My most significant childcare experience was working as an English teacher in China for one year. I designed lessons, led activities, and played games with children aged 3 and above, adapting my teaching methods to suit different age groups and abilities. This experience gave me the opportunity to work with large groups of children, develop classroom management skills, and use creativity to make learning engaging. I also worked as an au pair in Italy for four months, caring for three children of different ages. My responsibilities included helping with homework, organising activities, preparing meals, and supporting their daily routines. This role allowed me to form close bonds with the children while balancing fun with responsibility. In addition, I worked as an English teacher in London at a summer camp for two consecutive years. The children were from all over the world, and I was responsible for teaching English lessons, running games, and leading group activities. This role gave me valuable experience working with children from diverse cultural backgrounds and encouraged me to adapt my teaching style to suit different learning needs. I was also a leader with the Girl Guides in the UK, where I supervised groups of children during meetings and activities. I helped to organise games, outdoor activities, and skill-building exercises, which required patience, leadership, and teamwork. Alongside these roles, I have experience as a private tutor in the UK, teaching English to children on a one-to-one basis. I planned lessons tailored to each child’s needs, focusing on both language skills and confidence building. Finally, I come from a large family, so I gained early experience babysitting younger relatives as a teenager. This taught me responsibility from a young age and gave me a natural confidence in caring for children.

My name is Caragh 卡拉 and I’m from Ireland. I’m very excited about the opportunity to become your au pair. I’m currently based in Shenyang, China, where I’ve been working as an English teacher for the past year.
Last year I spent three months as an au pair in Italy, living with a family, caring for their children and supporting them with daily activities while teaching them English. It was such a rewarding experience that I would love to return to a similar role.
I’ve been teaching English for four years, which has given me valuable experience working with children of different ages and personalities. While I’ve really enjoyed my time here in Shenyang, I’m now looking for something more relaxed and homely – a chance to share everyday life with a Chinese family while continuing to use my childcare and teaching skills. I truly enjoy Chinese culture and already have some experience with daily life here, but I would love the opportunity to learn even more.
