- Part-time childcare for family friends, [year(s)], about 6 hours per week (after school, roughly 3 pm to 6 pm, several days a week): I looked after three children aged 5, 7 and 13. My responsibilities included preparing their afternoon snack, taking them to the park, helping them with their homework, and occasionally preparing and serving dinner when their parents were away.

I've spent my 3 years of High-School in the International French School of Riyadh, also called EFIR (Saudi Arabia), I got my Highschool French Degree there. During those 3 years I applied for the "Concours Général in English" (French National Competitive Exam for High School Students) which got me a C2 level in writing english. 2022-2025
I then did a year in a Preparatory Class (CPGE) in Literature and Humanities, specializing in History and Geography (Prytanée National) 2025-2026
I'm currently studying at UCLy, in the ESTRI faculty, in Applied Foreign Languages with English and Chinese, along with a University Diploma in International Relations.

- Family restaurant (helping my grandparents), during my childhood and teenage years: I worked in the dining room and at the bar, serving customers and helping run the service.
- Work placement in a bakery (middle school internship, “stage de troisième”): I arranged the display window, handled cleaning, and welcomed and served customers.
- Model United Nations (MUN), Geneva, 2025: I took part in a simulated UN conference, which developed my skills in public speaking, negotiation, and teamwork in an international environment

Dear host family,
My name is Emelyne, I’m 19 years old and I’m a French student. I grew up between France and Saudi Arabia, where I spent three years of high school, so I’m used to adapting to new places, new cultures and new ways of life. I’m currently studying Applied Foreign Languages (English and Chinese) and International Relations in Lyon, and I love learning about other cultures through their languages.
Why China? Last August, I travelled across the country, from small but popular towns to big cities like Shanghai and Chongqing. I fell in love with the warmth of the people, the food, the atmosphere of the streets, and the contrast between tradition and modernity. That trip made me want to go further than being a tourist: I want to live in China, speak Chinese every day, and understand the culture from the inside, as part of a family.
I truly care about children. I have looked after three children aged 5, 7 and 13 for several hours a week: I prepared their snacks, took them to the park, helped with homework, and sometimes cooked dinner when their parents were away. I have also visited primary and middle school classes to present literature and help with dictation. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, listened to and having fun. I would use games, songs and stories to help them practice English at their own pace, without pressure.
I hope to meet a kind and open-minded family who would like to share their daily life and traditions with me, and who would enjoy a real cultural exchange: I would be happy to teach English and to share a little of French culture, while learning from you about Chinese language and customs. Above all, I hope to find a family where communication is open and respectful, and where I can feel like a member of the household.
