Dear Host Family,

My name is Keyla, I am 20 years old and I come from Réunion Island, a beautiful French island in the Indian Ocean. I am a friendly, caring and curious person who loves discovering new cultures, meeting new people and learning new things.

I am looking for an au pair experience in China because I would love to discover Chinese culture and everyday life from the inside, rather than simply visiting as a tourist. I am very interested in Chinese culture, food, traditions and language, and I would be happy to learn Mandarin during my stay. At the same time, I would love to share my own culture and introduce my host family to Réunion Island, our traditions and our food.

I have experience with children through babysitting and through a professional work placement in a school, where I helped create activities for children. I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and creating a good relationship with them. I like doing creative activities, playing games, doing sports, going outside, reading and simply having fun together.

As an au pair, I would take my responsibilities seriously. I would make sure the children feel safe, listened to and cared for. I would be happy to help with their daily routines, prepare simple meals, help them get ready, play with them, accompany them to activities and help with age-appropriate homework if needed. I also understand that every child is different, so I would take the time to understand their personality, habits and needs.

I am looking for a warm and welcoming family where I can feel like a member of the family rather than simply an employee. I would love to share everyday moments together, such as having meals, talking, cooking, going out and discovering things together. I hope to find a family that communicates openly and treats their au pair with kindness and respect.

I would also love to have a cultural exchange with my host family. I can teach the children some French, tell them about life on Réunion Island and perhaps cook some traditional dishes from home. In return, I would be very happy to learn about Chinese traditions, food, celebrations and family life.

I am excited about the idea of stepping outside my comfort zone, becoming more independent and creating memories that I will keep for the rest of my life. Most importantly, I hope to build a genuine relationship with my host family and become someone the children can trust, have fun with and feel comfortable around.
