Many of China’s big cities are known for low violent crime rates and busy streets late into the evening. As an Au Pair you are not alone – you have a host family and the AiC team around you.

④ Program overview: Au Pair in China

The word “Au Pair” comes from French and means “on equal terms”. As an Au Pair in China you are not a servant – you are a temporary family member who helps with education and childcare while sharing culture.

• Live with a Chinese host family (or an international family living in China) and share everyday life.
• Help children with language practice, homework, games and simple daily routines.
• Take part in light household tasks related to the children and common spaces.
• Use your free time to attend language classes, explore the city and join Au Pair meet‑ups or activities.
